Description

Tomatoes are not what they used to be like - how many people have heard this from our relatives?

Constantly hearing this from my Grandad sharing a lovely cheese and tomato cob would always come with the moan and groan, after 30 years I discovered he was right!

When tomatoes are grown hydroponically it blocks the flavour in the fruit, when tomatoes are grown in soil they have that flavour, supermarkets sell hydroponically grown tomatoes making it difficult to taste

Our tomato powder has been grown in soil in Spain under the sun providing nature a chance to do her magic giving us pure tomato aroma and flavour

Add to any dish, pizza, tomato sauce, tomato soup, the list is endless well maybe not a tomato salad - were good but have our limits

Tomato Ground Powder - Quick Reference

  • What is it? Ripe tomato dried and ground into a fine, concentrated powder.
  • Flavour Rich, savoury tomato with gentle sweetness and natural acidity.
  • Common uses Soups, sauces, pizza seasoning, rubs, pasta dishes, bread doughs and dry flavour blends.
  • Pairs well with Garlic, onion, basil, oregano, paprika, chilli, cheese and olive oil.
  • How to use Stir directly into cooking or blend with water to make a quick tomato base, adjusting thickness to suit the recipe.
  • Compare with More concentrated and smoother than tomato flakes or granules, with no added liquid.
  • Possible substitute Tomato puree can be used where moisture is acceptable, or tomato flakes can be softened and blended.
  • Storage Keep tightly sealed and dry because the powder readily absorbs moisture.

Good to know: It adds both tomato flavour and body, so it can also help thicken sauces and soups.
